Whilst you are all distracted, the Government has quietly endorsed new UN language around “freedom of expression.”

Look closely and you’ll see phrases like “information integrity”, “reliable information”, AI governance and “safe participation” now added into discussions about free speech.

All of those seem harmless…except …

Who decides what counts as “reliable information”? And who gets to define “information integrity”?

Freedom of expression is about to become dependent on your government’s definition of what qualifies.
